David didn't care at first. When the book was offered he seemed excited but as he heard it was from Abraham, he lost interest. After some days he could be found looking the book over more though. He used it to draw with. To David he tried to think of it as a gift from Henry and not the other man. Encouraged to write, however, he did. So a second letter came in a short time after.

Abrahame,

Thank you for the book. It is nice. I like it so far. School is fun. I like where we live a lot more. The sity is entersting.

Thank you for the book,
David

The letter has misspellings here and there and some backwards lettering but David wrote it himself. There is the drawing of the chip monk as well.

Abraham kept the letter with all of Henry's letters, glad the boy seems to be doing so well.

After being married for a little over a month he wrote another letter, not only sending one to Speed but one to Henry as well.

Dearest Henry,

I have such wonderful news! Mary is expecting! A child! A son or a daughter! I care not which but that it simply be healthy and happy. Oh, Henry, I can barely contain my joy over the news. She's already busy attending to the house to prepare for our child. She'll make such a lovely mother, I am sure of it.

I hope all is well for you are David. The past few weeks have been so busy but joyous. I miss you both dearly and hope all is well.

Best Wishes,
Abraham
