"We've been here." He says with a shrug because it's true and it would have been easy enough to visit. "You've had the jobs I've sent you, and Mary, it is understandable." He adds, "But yes I've missed you as well." He gives his old friend a soft smile that doesn't quiet reach his eyes.
"David," He calls out pretending he doesn't know the boy is lurking in the shadows. "Come we do not wish to be late for dinner." He says adjusting his coat and going to the rack to grab his hat, and sun glasses off the small table, it's winter and will be dark enough soon for him to remove them, but the sun off the snow always hurts more then one would think.
"How is your growing family?" He asks while waiting for David to come out of the shadows.
