Henry looked up at the boarded up house and new it was for the best he would keep himself together for the boy, because he needed too, and because he knew Abraham wasn't truly gone from their lives.
He wanted Abraham to have a normal life, a full life, despite his need to hunt vampires, despite their mutual need to protect the world from the darker members of his kind.
He tapes the thick letter, giving his congratulations, and the address of where he and David would be moving too. He turns to the cart and gives the boy a warm smile.
The boy sitting up in the side set, as the back was loaded with what they would need to take with them, Henry climbs up and gets the horses moving.

He waits for David to bundle up, and it's a short walk to frozen pound and there are a few other families skating.

"You are already quit good." He grins a little moving them slowly around the pond.

He will not make a big deal out of David speaking of his family, for he doesn't want to have the boy stop.

"Ruth hated it. I'd make her come out and get me. She'd have to drag me across the ice to get me off and I'd always fight it and slide off with ease. This is much harder." that was the most he had spoken in one go, it seemed, but for him it was a good memory.
Mean while Abraham and Mary were taking a walk. the kids were being looked after and the couple were taking a stroll in the park area, stretching their legs and bundled up warm. It had been Mary's idea, as she had noticed her husband had been dreadfully distracted with something, more then likely business on this trip.

He lets them skate for awhile before moving them off the ice. "We have a tree to pick out young man..." He chuckles helping change out of the skates, he had seen Abe but chose to perhaps try and avoid him for the moment, because David was having one of his good days.

"Is that your friend?" Mary had said, bring he and her into a conversation about the man. He didn't look old enough for such a old child, and what of his wife? Adopted? Found? Poor child. Such a good man. Dinner? Set up with a friend of hers. No? Well... it was a thought. So on and so on. Mary seemed very interested in any friends of Abraham's, but Abe seemed to withdraw the idea easy enough. He did say he would talk to Henry about it, to see if he was interested, but he as sure he would not be.
Abe was distracted, watching Henry but also David. He'd never seen the boy that happy before, and it warmed him some in the cold. He pulled Mary close, to steal a hug and a kiss, but watched the two as they pulled off the ice, away from them at the other end.
For Abraham, he felt good about leaving David with Henry. Clearly the boy was better off.
David got out of the skates, insisting on carrying his own and asking "Can we do this again soon?" because he really enjoyed it and hoped to be better next time.

It doesn't take them long to find a tree and then decorating it with berries and popcorn and candy canes is far more fun then it should be.
"Oh look we have one left over." He say handing a candy cane to David.

When the extra candy cane was offered he beamed, taking it then pausing, looking at it then to Henry. "I wish I could split it with you." He thought it seemed so unfair that Henry couldn't eat things like he could.

"I feel it is time we get ready for dinner with our vistors." He says with a small smile.

"Visitors? I thought it was just Abraham." He asked, uncomfortable now. Will there be more then just him? He looked down at his hands, the peppermint color on his fingers from where he snapped the bit off. Yes, he'd have to clean up.

When Abraham does arrive, it is just him in a clean suit and a tall hat. He stood outside the door, feeling oddly nervous for just coming to meet with the man.

"I hope I'm not too untimely. You and David have been well?" He asked, clearly looking around from where he stood, curious.
David was taking his time with his shoes, so don't mind him...

"I... I am doing what I have always done and shall continue to do." He says ignoring the pang in his chest, he missed Abe, he missed the man in his bed. But he was old enough to hide any of that very skillfully.
He pours him self a glass of blood from a container on a high shelf and sips it slowly.

"I'm glad to hear you two are doing well then." He said, trying to take the words given to him as positives. He looked away from a sketch book and back to Henry. "I've missed seeing you these past years."
David is around now, but he's hiding a bit in the shadows, peeking in on the two. He did his damned bestest to be so silent. Abraham didn't seem to notice him, but he was sure Father would have. Still, he said nothing.

"David," He calls out pretending he doesn't know the boy is lurking in the shadows. "Come we do not wish to be late for dinner." He says adjusting his coat and going to the rack to grab his hat, and sun glasses off the small table, it's winter and will be dark enough soon for him to remove them, but the sun off the snow always hurts more then one would think.
"How is your growing family?" He asks while waiting for David to come out of the shadows.

David drew back, caught and knowing that the man was letting him not be caught. He wanted to go over and cover his drawing books. Hide them from Abraham, but... instead he made with silent feet and came out into the door way, hands behind his back, looking up at the other man.
Abraham was just explaining the boys to Henry when David came around the corner. He blinked, then smiled largely. "Bless me, is that really David? My how you've grown." And for Abe, David did seem to be much larger now. The years had gone by after all. He gave a small nod to the boy, who gave a silent one back.
Abraham took a step closer, offering a hand as if he would offer it to a gentleman. "It's good to see you again, young David." The boy took a moment, looking up to Henry questioning, then moved out to give a small shake of Abe's hand before taking a step back again, not saying anything.
Abraham felt a ping of something wrong here, but he didn't say anything, just drew back, giving Henry a questioning look in his own turn and an awkward smile. "He looks well. As do you."

"Come now, both of you need to eat." Henry chuckles a little heading back toward the door. He figures the sooner the meal is over the better for David.

And, this was awkward. Or so Abraham felt. He tried to give the kid a smile, walking with Henry to leave for dinner. He had just wanted to stop in and see how they were doing. Come to see them and perhaps talk a bit, but he didn't realize he had no idea what he wanted to talk to them about. Or Henry at least. Perhaps it was just because he had been thinking about them a lot lately.
He tried for polite conversation. "Mary saw you two out on the ice. She thought you looked to be a very young father for a child his age." He said with a soft smile, looking at Henry.

"It was a great deal of fun, we got the tree just after that." He nods as they are taken to a table between a window and the fire place, Henry watching the snow fall outside. "We'll have to get more wood from the shed when we get home." He says to David with a small smile. As the menus are brought to the table.
